”Ignite what is believed to be extinguished, confront what many refuse to acknowledge, all through the power of wisdom and education”. Discussions are always held in high regards rather than arguments for the latter finds who is right, while the first establishes what is right. The U&Q interaction session voiced these phrases and proved the power of questioning with its commencement in Christ College, Vizhinjam on 12 November 2024 presented in our college auditorium.

The event began with the honored presence of our beloved principal, Dr. Joseph K.A along with our esteemed chief guests Dr L.R Madhujan, Psychologist and founder of Karunasai Deaddiction Centre, who hosted as our moderator for the day; Megha teacher (Asst. Professor, Department of English, Vigyan College, Kattakada; Ms. Sreelekshmi (Social Worker, Manager of Namasthe Children’s Home). We were honored to have our honorable chief guests as our judging panel alongside Mrs. Meera Raj B.M (HOD Department of Psychology) and Ms. Namitha Sankar (Asst. Professor, Department of Psychology). The five membered judging panel addressed questions related to professionalism, career development, socialization and women empowerment.

The session, which lasted for two hours, started by 11 am and faced questions and dilemma of undergraduates concerning the lack of recognition of female dominated fields, challenges of social anxiety and peer pressure of overcoming it, migration of large-scale student population to abroad countries, Power and influence of AI on human population and quality. The questions didn’t just stop at such generalized peripheral viewpoints, but also challenged the judging panel’s knowledge by critiquing the existing woman empowerment as empowerment or over-powerment and defining its label as gender equality or gender neutrality. Such thought-provoking questions were also brainstormed and awarded as the best question for the day.

The session winded up by 1.30 pm and ended with the note to all budding futures of tomorrow that learning of a certain concept is fulfilled when you can reciprocate with questions to your mentor or guide about the concept and not just mugging up its theory forever.
