Report on the Inauguration of Music Club “MELOPHILES” and Theatre Club. “The Stage”. RHYTHM 2022

The Music Club and the Theatre Club of Christ College, Vizhinjam tries to inculcate musical and artistic interests in students and help in shaping their inborn talents. Activities of both the clubs for the current academic year began with a meeting which was held in the first week of July. Members from all the departments were selected in the subsequent meetings.

“Rhythm 2022”, the inaugural function of  ‘Melophiles’, the Music Club and ‘The Stage’, the Theatre Club was conducted on August 29, 2022 at the Audio-Visual room.  The programme started at 10:00 am.

Coordinators, student coordinators, teachers and non teaching staff of the college and the members of the two distinctive clubs were the participants of the programme and it was solely arranged as the beginning of the activities to be done by the clubs. The chief guest of the programme was Dr.Sathidevi D., Founder and Managing Director of Ashtapadi School of Arts. She is a gem in the realm of music. The programme was blessed by the presence of Dr.Joseph K A, Principal, Christ College, Vizhinjam. The function began with a thoughtful prayer by Ancy J.B. of S2 MA seeking the blessings of the Almighty. The welcome address was presented by Vishnupriya. L of S2 MA. It was followed by the presidential address by Dr.Joseph K.A, the Principal. The programme started off with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr.Sathidevi gave the students an insight into the importance of music and theatre in art. She appreciated the efforts of the clubs in upholding the aesthetic skills of the students. Concluding her speech she declared the inauguration of both the clubs.

       The programme succeeded with the logo release and honouring of the Chief Guest. Further the programme was led by the team of Melophiles with their Music Medley. It was followed by a documentary prepared by the members of  ‘Melophiles’ and then ‘The Stage’. The programme ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Avanthika from S2 B.Com Travel and Tourism, who thanked the Management, Principal and all the teachers for the immense support in organizing the function. The programme was concluded by 11:30 a.m. It ended successfully on a very positive note.
