Painting Competition

A painting competition was held, on International Water Day as part of Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education in association with IQAC. Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, in Government of India strives to promote resilient rural India through Higher Education interventions. MGNCRE designs, develops and promotes curriculum inputs for higher education programmes offered by Universities and Autonomous Institutions in India.

The competition was held on March 22nd 2023, Wednesday from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the college auditorium. The topic of the painting competition was “Accelerating Change to Solve the Water and Sanitation Crisis”. The advisory committee which comprises of Dr. Joseph K.A, Principal and Rev. Fr. Adv Thomas Cheppila CMI, provided valuable guidance and constant support from the very beginning of this initiative. The session was coordinated by Ms Malu Velayudhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The members of MGNCRE Mr Joseph.P Job, Ms Neethu John, Mr Sandanu J.B, Ms Meera Raj B.M, Ms Devika Anil, Assistant Professors, Christ College, Vizhinjam also provided their continuous support and guidance.

Active participation and effective cooperation was ensured by all the departments. There were 16 participants in total. The painting competition started at 11:30am. All the participants portrayed their ideas regarding the topic. The painting competiton came to an end by 12 30pm. Prathyash R.S of S4 BA English Literature secured first prize and Sajithra. S.S of BA English Literature secured second prize.
