As part of the observance of Anti-Ragging Week, which took place from the 12th to the 16th of August 2024, various programs were organized by the Center for Health Service and Centre for Students Physical Well-Being. The week was dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of ragging and reinforcing the commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment on campus. Day 1: Anti-Ragging Documentary Presentation

The week commenced with the presentation of more than three documentaries on anti-ragging. This event served as a strong reminder and a commitment to stand against any form of harassment, intimidation, or violence within the educational institution. The documentaries were designed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and to reinforce the importance of creating a culture of kindness, inclusion, and mutual respect. Day 2: Anti-Ragging Poster Display

In line with the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) mandate to observe Anti-Ragging Week, the second day focused on visual communication. Anti-ragging posters were displayed prominently on the college notice board by a dedicated team of student volunteers. This effort was symbolic of the student body’s commitment to maintaining a ragging-free environment and underscored the critical role students play in the fight against ragging. The visibility of the posters was intended to reinforce the college’s stance against ragging and provide essential information to those who might need it.
Day 3: Orientation Program

On the third day, an orientation program was held to further discuss the importance of anti-ragging policies. Ms. Aparna Sankar R. delivered an insightful talk on the role of students in maintaining a ragging-free environment, emphasizing the collective responsibility of the entire student body in upholding the principles of respect and safety on campus.
Day 4: Anti-Ragging Poster Making Competition
Date: 16 August 2024
Venue: College Auditorium
The week concluded with a poster-making competition aimed at fostering awareness about the detrimental effects of ragging. Approximately 20 students participated, showcasing their artistic skills and commitment to the cause. The posters conveyed strong anti-ragging messages and reflected the creativity and thoughtfulness of the participants. Safa Fathima of S3 BA English Language and Literature won first prize, while Adithya A. S. of S1 BBA secured the second position. A prize distribution ceremony was held in the Principal’s room, where Dr. Ramesh Chandran, Head of the Department of Social Work, awarded the winners and emphasized the importance of student involvement in such initiatives.
