WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY :ORIENTATION ON ECO TOURISM

On the occasion of World Environment Day, 2024, an orientation program on Eco Tourism was organized by the Department of Commerce (Tourism) & NSS unit of Christ College, Vizhinjam. The programme coordinators were Mr. Joseph P Job, Assistant Professor Department of  Commerce (Tourism) and Ms.Athira Krishna J, Programme officer NSS. The programme aimed to educate and inspire students and faculty about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability practices. The program aimed to foster a sense of responsibility towards the environment and encourage active participation in green initiatives within the college community. The program commenced with an inaugural address by the college principal Dr. Joseph K A, highlighting the significance of Environment Day and the role of educational institutions in promoting environmental awareness.Renowned  writer and cartoonist Mr.Hari Charutha was our chief guest.The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest by planting a tree, followed by the distribution of saplings to the students on the college grounds and delivered insightful lecture  on environmental conservation at college auditorium.The program’s comprehensive approach ensured engagement from various stakeholders within the college, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and collective action.
